My yoga path began in high school, when I signed up for a yoga elective class for a semester. I remember enjoying the practice and feeling relaxed afterward, but at the time, yoga was not easily accessible in the area where I lived, and my focus was on my college studies. For the next several years, I explored yoga through occasional classes at gyms, outdoor offerings, and community spaces.
When I moved to New York City in 2022, yoga became much more accessible. I attended several studios before settling into an Ashtanga yoga class at a local studio. That practice was physically demanding, challenging, and unlike any yoga class I had experienced before. It was also the first time I experienced a deeply meditative state in Savasana, and I was hooked. Through a consistent Ashtanga practice, I noticed physical and mental growth week after week, and I began to understand how yoga could support both healing and transformation.
Since then, I have continued to explore different yoga styles, studios, and instructors. This journey has helped me clarify what is most important to me as both a therapist and a yoga teacher: creating spaces that encourage self-awareness, compassion, intentionality, and sustainable growth.
As a holistic therapist, I had considered pursuing yoga teacher training for several years. I am someone who values practicing what I recommend or encourage my therapy clients to explore. Personally, I experienced how yoga improved my anxiety and stress, helped me find community, and reinforced the therapeutic work I was doing in my own life. That experience deepened my belief in the connection between mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
I continue to learn from the traditional spiritual teachings of yoga and the ways they align with my therapeutic approach. In my classes, I like to incorporate themes that can be reflected on both inside and outside of practice, such as self-compassion, self-awareness, and intentionality. My goal as an instructor is to support you in finding a new beginning, growth, renewal, or transformation — no matter the size — every time you step onto the mat.
I created Primavera Wellness as a space where therapy and yoga can work together to support the whole person. Whether you are seeking emotional support, stress relief, deeper self-awareness, or a renewed sense of balance, my goal is that Primavera Wellness feels like a place where you can start anew and continue to grow.
